We had been making good time, which allowed us some time to check out downtown Bloomington, IL and walk around for a bit. Bloomington is a quintessential mid-town American city, from the brickwork on the buildings to the historic houses flowing away from the city center. Like all American cities, thorough documentation of the town’s history has been made and the small, precise museum in the city center provides excellent info, especially if you want to hear what Lincoln thought of this area.
An added bonus: it sits on Route 66!
We settled in for the night, and I worked in the morning while Shiz took Fin to an excellent local park. Hours of play and a couple of bagels later, we were back on the road.
