Our friends from Ocala National Forest informed us of a tip they had heard about manatees in a park on the way to Cape Canaveral. We had a day or two before we really wanted to be in Cape Canaveral and we really wanted to see manatees, so stopping by Blue Spring State Park to see their manatees was hardly a choice at all.
Appropriately nicknamed sea cows, manatees are just funny creatures. Their huge, have no predators, don’t hang out in water cooler than 15 °C, and spend their days slowly eating a lot of food. With one visit, Shiz now has found the creature she wants to be re-incarnated as (either that or a house cat). And I get it, they’re really neat and endearing creatures.
